- : : : Even a full-blown 68030 is a incredibly slow by today's standards.
- : : : If Escom is actually foolish enough to release a new machine that's not
- : : : running at least an '060 (which is still slow) they're doomed.
- : :
- : : Comments like this can only come from a 'PC head'.....
-
- : Or from anybody who actually uses their Amiga enough to get frustrated
- : with its extremely slow processor! How can you possibly use an 030
- : based Amiga and NOT notice its sluggishness?
- :
- : : And yes, before you reply, in addition to my A3000 I own a 100MHz pentium
- : : and I still prefer to use the amiga.
-
- : Me too. (Well, A4000/030, and 90Mhz Pentium actually, but close enough :)
- : But just because I prefer the Amiga doesn't mean that I still can't
- : get pissed off at it sometimes...

-
- Oh I do get pissed off at it sometimes.... but NEVER because it's too slow.
-
- The PC (running w95) can often sit there paging for no good reason, and
- any disk I/O clobbers whatever else is running. The Amiga never does
- that kind of thing (and yes I know it doesn't page memory in/out, but it
- does do disk I/O for other reasons).
-
- Look, I'll say this. If you need a pc (as in personal computer, not a
- clone) for business, you might as well have a clone and whatever the most
- appropriate os for your needs is. If you want to do high end graphics
- buy a Mac (unless you can afford something better), but everyone I know
- who owns an Amiga, prefers it. There must be something to be said for
- that !
